What Smart Devy does

Smart Devy helps students turn course materials they can already access in their LMS into study sets, flashcards, summaries, quizzes, cheat sheets, course maps, and review decks.

Data the extension reads

When a student clicks the Smart Devy extension on a supported LMS course page, the extension reads visible course text and related course material metadata from the active page and supported LMS APIs available through the student's existing browser session.

• Course page text, page titles, assignment descriptions, discussion prompts, module outlines, and file metadata.
• The current LMS origin and course identifier when available.
• No LMS password collection and no LMS write actions.

How data is used

Imported course material is used only to generate study materials inside Smart Devy. The extension sends a one-time import payload to the Smart Devy web app selected by the user. Smart Devy does not sell personal data.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure

Smart Devy's use of information received from Chrome extension APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Permissions

• activeTab and scripting: read the current LMS page only after the student clicks the extension and asks to sync.
• storage: remember the Smart Devy web app URL.
• tabs: open the Smart Devy web app after sync.
• host permissions: pass synced material to the Smart Devy web app.
